What Stillfeed hides, and what it can't stop
Hiding rules change as the platforms change their pages. Here is where things stand today, and an honest account of how strict each app really is.
Hiding rules
Version 8, updated October 16, 2026
Rules are only data: page selectors and link patterns. They reach the extension and the Android app on their own, without a reinstall. If a platform redesigns a page, there can be a short gap until we catch up.
Supported surfaces
Short-video surfaces are hidden from the start. Everything else is optional and off until you turn it on.

How strict is it?
No blocker can stop someone who really wants to turn it off. What Stillfeed can do is make the tired-moment escapes slower, and make sure the person you asked to keep you honest finds out.
Alerts go out at most once a day per account, whichever device triggers them, and signing out of the app doesn't stop them. They can arrive late: Android sends the alert once it has a network connection again (or after the app restarts), and an extension removal is reported when the goodbye page opens. Rarely, reopening an old goodbye page can repeat an alert on a later day.
Browser extension
Chrome, Edge and Firefox on desktop.
What can still happen: Switching the extension off on the browser's extensions page.
How Stillfeed responds: Browsers always allow this and don't tell extensions. Nothing is sent, so this is the easiest way around it.
What can still happen: Removing the extension.
How Stillfeed responds: ProIf strict mode is on and you have an accountability partner, they get a short email with the device name and time. Nothing about what you were watching.
What can still happen: Opening a private or incognito window.
How Stillfeed responds: The extension only runs there if you allow it in the browser's settings. The popup tells you when it isn't allowed.
What can still happen: Using another browser or profile.
How Stillfeed responds: Each browser needs its own install. Sign in and your settings, limits and strict mode follow you.
What can still happen: Loosening limits, schedules or the pause screen.
How Stillfeed responds: ProBlocked while strict mode is on, both in the extension and on our server. Ending early needs your partner's approval or a 24-hour wait.
What can still happen: A platform redesign lets something slip through.
How Stillfeed responds: Rules update automatically. The popup shows when items slipped past and lets you refresh the rules right away.
Android app
Works through Android's accessibility service.
What can still happen: Turning off the accessibility service.
How Stillfeed responds: ProAndroid always allows this. If strict mode is on and you have a partner, they get a short email with the device name and time.
What can still happen: Uninstalling the app.
How Stillfeed responds: Android doesn't let apps notice their own removal, so no alert is sent. Your synced settings and strict mode are waiting when you sign in again.
What can still happen: A battery saver quietly stopping the service.
How Stillfeed responds: The protection health card shows it, with steps for your phone's brand to keep Stillfeed running.
What can still happen: Pausing protection or loosening settings.
How Stillfeed responds: ProTimed breaks and loosening are locked while strict mode is on.
iPhone
The iPhone app isn't available yet. When it is, its limits will be listed here just as plainly.
